In celebration of the release of DR. SEUSS’ THE LORAX NOW on Blu-ray and DVD, THE HOME DEPOT had teamed up with the EPA’s ENERGY STAR® and DR. SEUSS’ THE LORAX The Kids Workshop on August 4, 2012 from 9am-12pm.
Our family was lucky enough to go the the event and experience it first hand. After having two sick kids at home, unfortunately only the girls got to go this time. (Don’t worry our friends at The Home Depot sent us home with kits for the boys when they are feeling better.)
This month’s activity was “Build a Cork Bulletin Board.”
The kids had a ball learning how to make their own Cork Bulletin Board. Not only were they able to build and keep their project, but they were able to use there creativity to design and decorate them too! I loved that were having fun and learning all about tool safety at the same time.
The kids got their very own Home Depot Orange Apron! The kids loved this. Cheyenne even commented that she works there now.
After building their Cork Bulletin Boards the kids got to paint and decorate them to their hearts content.
Once their Bulletin Cork Boards were complete, Kids got a Certificate of Achievement and a pin for their apron.
The event was held at The Home Depot locations nationwide, the Kids Workshop provided children with Lorax activity sheets, Lorax create-you-own mustache kits, and Lorax sticker sheets.

(A huge Thank you to The Home Depot and Universal Studios for allowing Mommy and Baby Reviews to be part of this amazing event!)

That looks great, wish they would do stuff here like that more often.
