Last year, as you might remember our family made a special trip out to Danbury Fair Mall in Danbury, Connecticut, to visit Santa HQ Presented by HGTV. It was a very memorable experience that the kids could not stop talking about for weeks. We decided that we wanted to make a tradition out of and include our younger family members in on the special magic as well.
With 15 different locations at Macerich Shopping Centers in California, Arizona, Chicago, Metro New York, and the Washington, D.C. corridor, each Santa HQ location is set to astonish you, your family and friends with a dazzling array of holiday experiences. Waiting in line at Santa HQ, will not be the same as other mall experiences, When you visit Santa HQ, you can spend less time waiting in line and enhance your enjoyment of your photo-op with Santa by selecting the date and time of your photo session by making your reservation online. You can even prepay for your photo package and it gives you the opportunity to upgrade your package. The online reservation systems even has an opt-in text functionality to provide reminders about your reservation!

Santa HQ is more than just a visit with Santa himself, but a full experience for kids and their families to experience the Christmas spirit. Visitors to Santa HQ, are encouraged interact with the entire set from the minute you check in. Santa’s elves are extremely helpful and are there to answer any questions that you might have during your experience. Cheyenne made friends with a very special elf named, Megan.

The kids really loved interacting with at the Naughty or Nice Meters! Here visitors can stand next to the interactive board and find out which list of Santa’s they are on! Parents enter their child’s name into to computer while the child waits for the magic to reveal which list they are on. The kids have been pretty good this year! ❤ Which list do you think the kids made?

NEW THIS YEAR: The Elf Academy is a family-friendly experience that features interactive technology. The Magic Mirror allows guests to transform into one of Santa’s elves! You can virtually try on various elf outfits. Elf-ID allows guests to create their very own customized Elf-ID card using the new Elf-ID app and a “selfie”. Elfie Selfie allows visitors to take a selfie and star in their own holiday video. The kids thought this was adorable and funny. You are able to email your Elf-ID and Elfie Selfie video where you can share it on your social media channels to share with your friends and family!

Elf-Ray Vision allows guests to explore Santa’s Observatory through the use of special goggles that trigger a series of augmented reality experiences at multiple locations throughout Santa HQ! There are two triggers at Entrance Arch, one trigger on exterior of the Workshop, Toy triggers underneath the Christmas Tree in the Workshop and enhanced triggers in the observatory.

Time to see Santa Claus and get our picture taken! After all what is a visit to see Santa HQ without the traditional photo-op? Santa took the time to talk to both of the girls, ask them what they wanted for Christmas and if they were keeping their rooms clean! Every child leaves with stickers and a special gift from the North Pole.

The set is decorated with more than 10,000 individual holiday lights synchronized to the tune of“Carol of the Bells” to create an illuminated orchestra and special light show.

HGTV’s Help Through Holiday Giving Drive helps visitors enjoy the holiday spirit of giving. The program encourages visitors to donate new, unwrapped toys for local children in need with the goal of collection over 1,000 toys per center! In 2017, HGTV’s Help Through Holiday Giving program collected over 66,000 toys benefiting local organizations like Forgotten Angel Tree, Salvation Army Angel Tree, Toys for Tots, and Spark of Love Stuff a Bus.
