Mommy and Baby Reviews recently had the opportunity to work with Bella Viva Orchards and try 3 of their very popular fruits, Dried Yellow Nectarines, Pitted Dried Bing Cherries and Unsweetened Dried Strawberries. Our family loves to eat fruit. My kids love dried bananas and prefer eating them over chips or unhealthy snacks. When we received our fruit the kids were excited to dig in and start trying them.
First, the kids wanted to tried the Dried Yellow Nectarines. The nectarines are extremely fragrant and flavorful unlike other dried nectarines that we have had in the past. Bella Viva’s dried yellow nectarines are harvested and dried in the California sun for that natural sun-baked taste. I love that the Nectarines are a rich source of vitamin A and iron and very healthy for my kids!
Next, the kids picked the Pitted Dried Bing Cherries to try. The cherries are a very deep purple in color and are packed sweetness. Bella Viva unsweetened dried cherries are dried under the California sun and contain no added flavors. The kids said that the cherries tasted like fruit snacks but even better. I love them because its a great alternative to the fruit snacks that are jammed pack with sugars and other unhealthy ingredients.
The last fruit the kids tried was the Unsweetened Dried Strawberries. These are by far the kids favorite of the three they had the opportunity to try. Bella Viva Strawberries are dried without preservatives or sweeteners. Leaving only the natural sugars of the strawberries to make these strawberries taste so great. Bella Viva Unsweetened Dried Strawberries emit distinct, luscious, sweet and tart flavors only produced from the best California strawberries. The kids love putting the strawberries as topping in their yogurt, ice cream, even their oatmeal. They even love eating them straight out of the bag!
We wanted to try Bella Viva dried fruits in some of our favorite recipes and see how they worked. The kids love trail mix. It is the perfect healthy snack for them and they love helping to make it. We started by cutting up about a cup of the nectarines and placed them in a bowl. Then, we took about a cup of the cherries and a cup of the strawberries and mixed them in with the nectarines. I allow the kids to make their own and add their favorite nuts and instant oatmeal packets, even chocolate covered candies. The kids have a healthy snack that they love and made on their own. The best thing is its easy to make a large batch and keep it fresh in plastic baggies or air tight containers. This makes it easy to keep in the car, diaper or park bag or send for snack. We can’t wait to try the dried fruit in some of our favorite muffin and cookie recipes. Maybe even create some new ones!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
